Gent’s students are facing challenges: mental health struggles, climate concerns, and everything in between. So, together with Student in Gent, we created “#efkesserieus” (“#Let’s-be-serieus”). A bold video series that addressed real student issues, from mental health to independence.
Many students in Gent are struggling with worries, rising stress levels, and a lack of perspective. Negative energy often leads to passivity, loneliness, or even depression. Together with Student in Gent, we set out to find ways to positively inspire and support students during these challenging times.
How do you connect with a student audience overwhelmed by stress, isolation (remember COVID?), and an endless list of worries? You meet them where they are, with content that resonates, engages, and inspires action. No empty slogan, just real talk.
The #efkesserieus series broke through the noise, tackling heavy themes with heart and honesty. With five episodes on Facebook and Youtube covering topics like mental health, gender, and climate change, we created a campaign that turned passive scrolling into active engagement.

Each episode dove into a different theme, blending personal anecdotes with hard-hitting stats to create a balanced narrative.
From mental health struggles to climate change, we didn’t shy away from the tough topics.
Student life in Gent is as dynamic as it is demanding. Stress, loneliness, and societal pressures weigh heavily on students, but that’s where #efkesserieus stepped in.
We started with the students themselves: interviewing them, hearing their stories, and turning their insights into a video series that felt real. Each episode dove into a different theme, blending personal anecdotes with hard-hitting stats to create a balanced narrative.
From mental health struggles to climate change, we didn’t shy away from the tough topics. Instead, we crafted content that was raw, relatable, and above all hopeful. Supported by social media content, posters, and web materials, the campaign reached students where they live: online, on campus, and in their hearts.
With a solid communication plan, clear channel strategy, and relentless execution, #efkesserieus became a movement, one that showed students they’re not alone and that change starts with connection.
