OMG! Van Eyck Seven Senses Tour

Stad Gent

TL;DR
We made Van Eyck literally move with the Seven Senses Tour, a sensory city experience blending art, history, and a touch of magic.

In short

What do you get when you combine a Flemish Master, the vibrant city of Ghent, and a multi-sensory experience? The Seven Senses Tour. This guided tour connected Ghent’s iconic landmarks to Van Eyck’s genius while immersing visitors in a journey that tickles all seven senses. From tasting to dreaming, we brought art to life in unexpected ways.

The challenge

How do you translate Van Eyck’s timeless art into a fresh, interactive experience that fills time slots, even in a challenging tourism year? The answer: think bigger than sight alone.

The insight

Van Eyck didn’t just paint; he transported viewers to new dimensions. We took that same energy and designed a tour that didn’t just show his world. It let you feel, taste, and even smell it.

The outcome

The Seven Senses Tour became a standout in Ghent’s cultural calendar. From stunning visuals inspired by Van Eyck’s own style to a video campaign that brought the experience to life, we turned this tour into a must-see (and must-feel) attraction.

In detail

Our design team drew directly from Van Eyck’s oeuvre, crafting visuals that were as intricate and vibrant as the Master’s works.

The Seven Senses Tour wasn’t your typical stroll through Ghent. This was about movement, interaction, and fully immersing yourself in the essence of Van Eyck.

Our design team drew directly from Van Eyck’s oeuvre, crafting visuals that were as intricate and vibrant as the Master’s works. Each of the seven senses was brought to life with a unique image, while the overarching design celebrated Ghent’s iconic skyline: a nod to the city as both backdrop and inspiration.

But we didn’t stop at static visuals. Knowing the importance of movement, we captured the tour in a stunning 30-second video. From the illuminated tunnel to the scent of history lingering in the air, every detail was meticulously filmed to highlight the magic of the experience.

With posters, banners, and a strategic digital campaign, the Seven Senses Tour quickly gained traction. The visuals not only connected to the larger Van Eyck campaign but also stood out as a celebration of Ghent’s unique charm.

This wasn’t just a tour. It was a citywide ode to art, history, and the senses—one that left visitors saying, “OMG, Van Eyck was here!”
