Biking in Ghent should be fun and safe, but too many young cyclists were biking without proper visibility. Enter “Zie Mij Gaan” (“See Me Rolling”). A campaign that made bike lights cool by blending style with safety. With reflective sticker postcards, social media buzz, and bold motion design on campus screens, we created a safety message that actually resonated with students.
How do you get young cyclists to take visibility seriously without sounding like their parents? The goal was clear: turn safety into something stylish, fun, and impossible to ignore, all while working within a tight budget.
Safety doesn’t have to be boring. By fusing functionality with creativity and speaking the language of young cyclists, we could make visibility a badge of pride, not just a necessity.
The campaign lit up Ghent, literally and figuratively. Reflective sticker postcards became a hit, motion graphics on campus screens grabbed attention, and social ads drove the safety message home with humor and flair.
“
We started with the stickers. Reflective, fun, and packed with personality, they weren’t just practical, they were cool. The centerpiece was the slogan “Zie Mij Gaan – Met mijn fietslichten aan” (“See Me Rolling – With my bike lights on”), a playful rhyme that turned a basic safety message into something catchy and memorable. These stickers were distributed via postcards, letting students peel, stick, and shine wherever they rode.
Next, we took the campaign to social media. Bright, eye-catching ads reinforced the message, using humor and bold visuals to connect with young cyclists. Instead of lecturing, the content celebrated the freedom and fun of biking, with bike lights as the ultimate accessory.
Finally, we turned to motion design to reach students where they spent their time: campuses. Dynamic animations lit up screens in student hubs, showcasing the campaign’s message in a way that was impossible to miss.
The result? Safety with style. The campaign made visibility a part of student culture, proving that a creative message, even without big media investments, can make a big impact.
