Nobody likes feeling like a tourist, even when they are one. That’s why we teamed up with Visit Catalunya to create “Com un Català” ("Like a Catalan"). Our campaign invited Flemish and Dutch travelers to experience Catalonia through the eyes of its locals. With gastronomy, culture, and adventure as our pillars, we opened the doors to authentic Catalan experiences, steering visitors away from the beaten path and into the heart of what makes Catalonia truly special.
The challenge was to show Catalonia as more than its iconic landmarks, encouraging travelers to dig deeper into its local treasures and traditions.
Tourism isn’t just about seeing, it’s about belonging. By encouraging travelers to “live like a Catalan,” we emphasized active participation in the region’s rich cultural, culinary, and adventurous offerings.
From traditional festivals to hidden hiking trails, “Com un Català” celebrated the lesser-known joys of Catalonia. The campaign brought these experiences to life with engaging interviews from locals sharing insider tips, bolstered by targeted social and digital content.

Everyone knows Barcelona, the playas, and the typical tourist spots, but let’s be honest, that’s all a bit overdone. We came in with a refreshing approach. Instead of the clichés, we introduced “Com un Català,”(meaning “Like a catalan”) a campaign that invited Flemish and Dutch travelers to go beyond the obvious and experience Catalonia like locals.
We focused on what truly makes Catalonia unique: its rich gastronomy, vibrant culture, and breathtaking adventures. Through interviews with locals, we uncovered insider tips: from the best hidden markets and traditional festivals to scenic hiking trails and secret coves. These authentic stories formed the backbone of our campaign, showing travelers a side of Catalonia they’d never seen before.
We interviewed locals to really uncover how it is to eat, sleep and live like a Catalan.
Our visuals and messaging emphasized active participation, inviting people to live Catalonia rather than just visit it. From cooking workshops in rustic villages to exploring the Pyrenees, we gave travelers the tools to dive into the region’s authentic offerings.
Digitally, we amplified the campaign through targeted ads on Meta and Google, leading users to a dedicated website packed with in-depth articles, tips, and itineraries. The result was a seamless blend of inspiration and practical advice, making it easy for visitors to plan their Catalan adventure.
With “Com un Català,” we transformed Catalonia into a destination for explorers, respecting the anti-tourism movement, proving that the best way to travel is to live like a local.
