Riding in style

Stad Gent

TL;DR
We teamed up with Toykyo to design bold, eye-catching bikes that turned De Fietsambassade into a campus sensation while boosting student engagement.

In short

De Fietsambassade had a problem: their bike fleet had transitioned from bright yellow to a muted green, making them nearly invisible on the streets. To bring some flair back to their branding and recapture students’ attention, we collaborated with Toykyo to create three one-of-a-kind bikes. These designs became prizes in a contest that energized students and brought the campaign to life.

The challenge

How do you make a bike rental service exciting? De Fietsambassade needed a way to grab attention and inject personality into their fleet. The goal was to create buzz among students while turning the bland bikes into a bold statement.

The insight

Students don’t just want practical, they want fun and style. By transforming the bikes into works of art, we gave students something to talk about and aspire to own, proving that mobility can be stylish, exciting, and uniquely personal.

The outcome

The Toykyo collaboration turned the bikes into mobile masterpieces, sparking conversations, contest entries, and campus-wide enthusiasm for De Fietsambassade.

In detail

The collaboration with Toykyo began with a simple idea: make a few bikes unforgettable. Toykyo’s creative team delivered three vibrant, head-turning designs that perfectly balanced playfulness and style. These bikes became the ultimate student status symbols.

To amplify the excitement, we launched a contest where students could win one of the custom-designed bikes. The entry mechanic was simple: rent a bike from De Fietsambassade and be automatically entered into the draw. This approach boosted bike rentals while building anticipation for the prize announcement.

To ensure the buzz didn’t stop there, we backed the contest with a full activation campaign. Abribikes in student hotspots showcased the designs, and playful social media ads teased the bikes, encouraging students to get involved.

The campaign’s visual identity stayed true to De Fietsambassade’s values of accessibility and sustainability while infusing Toykyo’s signature boldness. The result? A perfect fusion of form and function that resonated with students.
